FUNCTIONS OF THE DIRECTORATE OF FORENSICS AND CHEMICAL MONITORING:
- Receiving, Analysis and Identification of seized drugs and precursors samples from across the Federation.
- Identification and dismantling of clandestine drug manufacturing laboratories.
- Presentation of Expert evidence in courts across the Federation to aid successful prosecution of drug offenses.
- Revalidation of drug exhibits prior to their destruction at Public destruction of Exhibits exercises.
- Monitoring of use of precursors and other controlled chemicals to prevent and identify diversion from licit sources to illicit use.
- Interface with relevant regulatory Agencies on implementation of the Licit component of the National Drug Control Master Plan.
