FUNCTIONS OF THE DIRECTORATE OF EXTERNAL RELATIONS:
- Interface with foreign Partners and International Organizations. Ensuring prompt update to our International Partners on the NDLEA Weekly Review Reports.
- Process the acquisition of full power of Attorney from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) for the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer when necessary.
- Attend meetings at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as directed by the Chairman Chief Executive Officer and carry out necessary follow up actions including submission of reports to the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer.
- Coordinate meetings between the Chairman/ Chief Executive Officer and International Partners/Heads of Missions as directed by the Chairman /Chief Executive Officer and render reports appropriately.
- Process the acquisition of Notes Verbal from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs whenever deemed necessary for attendance of foreign meetings / programs by Agency Officials, when required.
- Coordinating/Facilitating Visa Procurement for Chairman/Chief Executive Officer/Entourage for foreign official trips if directed to handle and coordinating reception/Protocol Assistance in conjunction with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on arrival, when required.
- Proactively working ahead of schedule to ensure that all inputs/documentation such as vetted draft Memoranda of Understanding ( MoUs) from the Federal Ministry of Justice etc. required from the Agency are made available to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs promptly ahead of time in view of Bi-National/Joint Commission meetings scheduled to hold as well as those anticipated.
- Preparation and forwarding of draft Memoranda of Understanding for vetting by the Federal Ministry of Justice and forwarding same to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for necessary action with some identified countries including some destination and source countries with a view to explore collaboration in the near future , using the thwarted arrest/seizure report indices received from (Strategic Area Commands and Courier Houses)
- Any other ad hoc duties assigned by the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer to the Directorate
