Directorate of Training and Manpower Development


The directorate shall be responsible for all Agency’s training matters, seminars and professional conferences. It comprises of other department as listed:

Director, Training and Manpower Development



  • Training Department
  • The department shall be responsible for supervising the Academy. Accordingly, it shall, in conjunction with the Academy:
    1. Draw up the yearly calendar of training activities of the Agency,
    2. Review such calendars from time to time,
    3. Ensure adequate coverage of the course contents of each training exercise, Keep records of all training exercises,
    4. Carry out any other assignment that the CCE may assign.

  • Manpower Development
  • The department shall be responsible for:
    1. Identifying the manpower needs of every directorate/unit,
    2. . Assessing the existing manpower level of each directorate/unit,
    3. Determining and recommending personnel that should go for what courses,
    4. Ensuring that all personnel are given equal opportunities for development, and
    5. Performance of all such assignments as may be directed by the CCE.
  • Curriculum Development
  • The department shall be responsible for:
    1. Development of basic training modules (or curricular) for all cadres of the Agency,
    2. Development of refresher course modules for all cadres of the Agency,
    3. Development of advanced course modules for the Superintendent cadre of the Agency,
    4. Regular review and updating these modules.
    5. Performance of any duty as may be assigned by the CCE.
  • NDLEA Academy
  • The Academy shall serve as the Agency Training Institution, responsible for the execution of all such training activities as are assigned to it to execute.

  • The Library
  • The Central Library shall, among other things:
    1. Keep custody of and maintain all acquired literary materials.
    2. Develop a library system for the Agency.
    3. Advise in the procurement of reference literary materials.
    4. Performance of any duty as may be assigned by the CCE.
